Illowa Chapter of the National Weather
Association Serving Eastern Iowa and
Northwest Illinois
Illowa Chapter Purpose
The Illowa Chapter of the National Weather Association consists of many people who work with and in the realm of weather and many who are enthusiasts of meteorology. Our chapter strives to improve communication between the segments of working meteorologists and works towards educating its members and the general public within our region about information and opportunities within the realm of weather and meteorology.
Rules for membership
The National Weather Association and its local chapters have, purposefully, set no requirements for membership. There are no education or experience requirements to be met. Membership in the Illowa Chapter is open to anyone who lives within eastern Iowa and Northwest Illinois. Membership is also extended into central Illinois and southwest Wisconsin since no local chapters serve those regions. Membership fees for the Illowa Chapter are currently $10 and cover a January to December period. Current fees for a national membership are $28 for a January to December period. It is not necessary for you to be a member of both or either organization to be a part of organization events. However, it is strongly encouraged by the officers of the Illowa Chapter and the Councilors of the National Weather Association. For more information about membership, go to our contacts page and email or call a local officer or the national headquarters.
